Child Sponsorship Program
Cognizant of the need to provide for suffering children in Africa and beyond, AICM has embarked upon a program named "Each One Help One Family".
As a result of civil wars, thousands of children have been abandoned and orphaned. They beg for food for themselves and those they love. For most of them, school is only a dream.
Recent statistics from the program director indicates that the program has qualified 250 family heads, comprising 1532 children in Liberia alone. In a country where $ 5.00 per week is an unusually good wage, even the smallest contribution from those of us in wealther countries can save young lives.
How you can help
Due to the 80% unemployment rate in Liberia (a result of the civil war which ended in 1997) many families are burdened with extra responsibilities. Besides their own children, they took in children of their relatives who died during the war. The program is intended to help these families with $ 15.00 monthly to mainly help with their tuition, other fees, food and clothing. Photo(s) of the family you support will be sent to you, and regular communication will be established through this office.
